Reviews, Tips and What's Happening from Kenny Jahng Around Livingston, Short Hills, Millburn, Summit, Madison, Chatham, East Hanover and West Orange NJ.
Get ready -- On Thursday September 29th at 7:30pm, the Livingston Library will present “Mark Twain’s Last Stand.”
Perfomer Alan Kitty combines Twain’s wit and insight about the human condition in a show filled with socially charged humor. Mr. Kitty’s impersonation as a posthumous Twain explores the parallels between his century and ours. Witty, humorous and topical!

Looks like the Fresh City concept just didn't stay fresh. The original restaurant in the 1st floor marquee space at Livingston Towne Center closed its doors recently, as turnover continues with the merchants at the Center.
But Foozy's is here with a new concept - casual dining -- think pizzas - 13 bucks, paninis and sandwiches around $8 -$10, pastas, a couple of "entrees" like salmon or flat iron steak for around $15.
At a first glance, nothing too distinctive, but everyone should be able to find something on the menu. They're not aiming to be a "value" bit to eat. And not a specific niche/ethnic/specialty either. The question becomes if people will remember Foozy's when trying to decide where to eat.
Personally, if I'm forking over a whopping $1/buffalo wing (8 wings for $7.59 + tax), it either be a really good plate of wings, or something unique that I wouldn't get at Domino's, Friday's or other casual dining restaurant.
If you've been, let us know your thoughts! Leave a comment below -- don't forget to tell us what you ordered at Foozy's.

Here's details of a new contest from the Essex County Turtle Back Zoo.
I don't know when the last time you visited the Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange (behind the Codey Arena at South Mountain), but it is not the same zoo your dad brought you to when you were a kid.
The Turtle Back Zoo is now an officially accredited zoo in NJ. They've added a bunch of great new exhibits and residents. There's a great BIG carousel and playground for the kids. The bird aviary is definiately one of my kids' favorite areas. And you have the good ol' standby classic - the choo choo train that takes you around the lake at South Mountain in the back of the zoo grounds.
The Zoo is giving away a free party for you and 25 if your friends. They'll even throw in a $250 gift card so you can be a super host and look like a star.
The contest entry requirements are so easy that you have no excuse NOT to enter for the party price worth $675!
